Commitment to a Better Tomorrow
Community Services
- Trash pickup
- Trash pickup is done every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, excluding holidays.
- Library
- The Glimmerpeak Library is open 7 days a week, 7 am to 9 pm weekdays and 9 am to 7 pm weekends.
- The summer reading program runs from June 1st to August 15th, and has a couple lists depending on age.
- Road and sidewalk maintenance
- The road system and sidewalks will be monitored for debris and deterioration, and the flow of traffic will be studied to help improve safety and movement.
- Emergency services
- Town guardsmen keep watch 24/7 for crime, patrolling often, and are often first on the scene for fires and medical emergencies because of this. In any
emergency, alert a guardsman - they will alert the Emergency Services Director on duty to the situation. The Emergency Services Director will then dispatch the
needed emergency personnel.
- Schools
- Glimmerpeak is home to a public school district serving the youth of the community. The school district's mission is to educate students well, so class sizes
are kept small (a maximum of 15 students) and teacher wages high. Glimmerpeak is large enough to have four schools; two elementary schools (kindergarten-5th),
a middle school (6th-8th), and a high school (9th-12th). The school year typically starts around August 20th and ends around May 20th.
- A community college is also in the works for Glimmerpeak. A building site has been selected as well as a construction crew; funds are currently being acquired.
Currently, there are 10 members of the community backing the college. There are 8 confirmed interested instructors, with the following backgrounds: art, astronomy,
chemistry, languages, woodworking, history, engineering and medicine.
- Parks and Recreation
- Glimmerpeak has a few small parks scattered around town, as well as several trails leading to the historic mines. A community center is maintained by the town
parks and recreation department for community centered events and exercise equipment is provided as well. A small fee is required each visit to help maintain
the facilities.
